On the Musandam Peninsula near the Strait of Hormuz, Khasab serves as the state capital. Through the Al Dhara border, this city is reachable by road from the United Arab Emirates. You will have to get Oman insurance at the border if it is not already covered by your auto insurance. Insurance costs: 90 AED per vehicle. Take a NOC (No Objection Certificate) from the rental company if you have a rental car.
